Installation and Connection Steps
Proper crimping is essential for safety and long-term reliability; we recommend using specialized tools.
Stripping the Wire: Use wire strippers to remove approximately 7–8 mm of the cable jacket, exposing the copper core.
Crimping the Terminal: Insert the copper core into the end of the metal terminal (male/female), then use specialized crimping pliers to secure it tightly, ensuring it is firmly in place and will not come loose.
Insert into Housing: Insert the crimped terminal into the corresponding plastic housing (pay attention to polarity) until you hear a “click,” indicating it is locked into place.
Tighten the Locking Cap: Tighten the waterproof locking cap at the end to prevent water and dust from entering.
Disconnection Requires Specialized Tool: Do not attempt to pull it apart by force; you must use an MC4-specific wrench (disconnection tool). Insert it into the side of the male connector, release the latch, and then separate the connectors.

Common Problems and Prevention
If connected improperly, connectors may overheat, melt, or even cause a fire.
Inadequate crimping: This is the primary cause of increased contact resistance, overheating, and melting. Be sure to use professional crimping pliers.
Mixing Male and Female Connectors: Even if connectors from different brands (such as MC4 and H4) can be forced together, incompatibility may lead to water ingress or poor contact. Whenever possible, use products of the same brand and model.
Incomplete Connection: If you do not hear a “click” when connecting, the connection is not fully locked. This makes the connection prone to loosening when used outdoors.
